“Lois Unleashed”

By Lois Mierau

We were in Lloydminster for a games trial in March. Donella

and Jake did well as usual, earning their Open Superior

Touch and Go title and their Elite Touch and Go title.

Liane, Friday, Cricket and Bounce joined us for Sunday only. Friday did very well and showed us the true spirit of dogs! Cricket had some nice rounds and Bounce the puppy wowed everyone with his charisma and good looks!

Thanks to guest handling appearances by Liane and Carol Bevan, Katie earned two Weavers Qs (quite a feat for a dog that has never really “gotten” weave poles.) Quewe earned her Novice Hoopers title.

We were also in Edmonton for a trial April 25 & 26. Jake and Donella earned their Open Superior Versatility Award. Again, congratulations.

Our seminar is full but there are unlimited auditing spots available. Please let me know if you would like to audit.

Trial preparations are going well. We always need volunteers or, if you don’t feel confident enough to work, please come out and watch. This is a great opportunity for you to see what can be accomplished with your training

Spring classes are in full swing. Practices for Intermediate and Advanced classes will move to Friday evenings between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m.

On a sad note, we at Sondog offer Liane Kramer our deepest sympathies on the loss of her Sheltie, Friday. Liane and Friday were one of the original Sondog teams. They embodied the true meaning of teamwork both on and off the field. They showed us all that agility isn’t about the Qs or placements or beating the next guy but about stepping to the start line with your best friend and sharing that true connection. Liane and Friday would always leave the agility field with big smiles on their faces. Sondog has lost a very special member of our team

and we will miss him so very much.

We are holding a Tunnelers run and a Hoopers run on Friday, May 23 with all entry fees being donated to canine cancer research. Learn more on the Sondog Trial Runs for Friday page.
