Knowledgeable and friendly agility instruction since 1996
By Lois Mierau
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas season with family and friends and are now ready to get back to training. Thank you to everyone who came out for our Fun Match in December. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
February will be a busy month with our Fun Match scheduled for February 7, the first trial of the new year in Cold Lake, AB on February 14 & 15 and our participation at the Family Expo at Prairieland Park on February 20, 21 & 22. We were asked to do a demo for them, but wouldn’t ask our dogs to work on concrete and carpet. (Too slippery and too much impact on the dogs’ shoulders.) Instead, we will have an information booth.
Winter classes are just getting under way and I am looking forward to introducing our new beginners to this rewarding sport. We’re all looking forward to another fun year at Sondog.
The most exciting news at Sondog for this year will be the opportunity to host Sharon Nelson for a three-day seminar July 28-30. Sharon is the founder of the North American Dog Agility Council (NADAC), the agility venue that Sondog is associated with. She doesn’t often come to Canada and has never been to Saskatchewan! The seminar is full but there may be auditing spots available (you get to watch, but not bring a dog). If you are interested, let me know and I will help you get on the list. We have moved our August trial ahead one week to July 31, August 1 & 2 so it will follow the seminar. Sharon’s visit is a wonderful opportunity to learn from one of the best!
